What we offer: Publications. In 2009, we started a project to publish compact but authoritative books on aspects of Avon’s history, and 37 titles have now been published. ALHA Membership
Membership of ALHA is open to both groups or other institutions, and to individuals. Group members receive a free copy of the Speakers List and all members receive a copy of the Newsletter. The 2022 Local History Day will be on Saturday 22nd October at the St Michael’s Centre, Stoke Gifford and the topic will be “A Roof over your Head”. Apply to Publish a New Booklet
Our booklets are original works about aspects of Avon history. ‘History’ is interpreted broadly, to include archaeology, prehistory and pre-human history. No topic is excluded as long as it has some history to it which is likely to interest a sufficient number of readers. What makes an ALHA booklet?
